Brunch

On the first and third Sundays of the month we meet together at 10am for brunch. Brunches are a flow of Bible - discussion & food - worship & ministry. All welcome.

Where is it?
Usually at Andrew & Mandy's house. Please email office@ovc.uk.com to confirm and to get directions. In the summer we will meet outside.
How long is it?
A couple of hours
What happens?
We chat over brunch, may sing a couple of worship songs, or  look at the Bible, and offer prayer for anyone who would like it.

Come as you are. You don't need to fix yourself before coming - we are all ordinary people who are broken & looking to Jesus for help.

Explorers

On the 2nd Sunday of each month. Explorers is a family event in woodland, where we learn about the Bible, do activities as a family, pray, and toast marshmallows! It is for families with junior school aged children, & we love it when the whole family comes.

Where is it?

Usually at Andrew & Mandy's house. Call to get directions.
How long is it?
1.5 hours.
What happens?
We play in the wood before gathering around a fire pit. That is where take a few minutes to look at something from the Bible. After that we have activities linked to what we learned, before recapping around the fire. After being led in a prayer or meditation, we toast marshmallows.

Fireside

On 4th Sunday of each month. Fireside is for 8-13(ish) year olds who want to discover more about Jesus, faith and what the Bible has to say, whether from a starting point of curiosity, or wanting to go deeper in your faith journey. All are welcome!  x

Where is it?

Usually at Andrew & Mandy's house. Call to get directions.
How long is it?
1.5 hours.
What happens?
We will start with a game (which often involves chocolate!), followed by the Discovery Study. This involves looking at some verses from the Bible followed by a series of questions to guide discussions in smaller groups based loosely on age or friendship groups, including one for any adults who wish to stay. Young people can talk, or just listen, as they prefer. There will of course be marshmallows toasted on the fire to end our fireside time together.

Retreat Days

Once a quarter, we have a contemplative retreat where we take the time to rest in God's presence and listen for what he has to say to us, using a selection of bible based exercises, such as bible meditation and imaginative bible reading. We want to go deeper into the Father's love, and experience the reality of Jesus through the presence of the Holy Spirit.

What happens?

After drinks, we worship, use a centring/relaxation exercise and then use a Bible Meditation. There are times where we can talk about what we've experienced, before moving on to other spiritual exercises such as Imaginative Bible Reading, Picture Meditation, Journaling, etc.
